Flat Roof Tarp after a Snow Storm in Albuquerque

When the snow melted after a recent snow storm in Albuquerque this flat roof began to leak. We were called to do an emergency tarp up to prevent further leaking into the home. The idea was to temporarily seal the roof without using screw or nails, thus putting more holes in the roof. We started by removing the rocks around the leaking area. Then a 4’ x 8’ piece of plywood was laid on the roof. We used roofing tar to seal the edges, placed the tarp over the wood and tar and used the rocks to hold it down while it dried. This new method of flat roof tarp sealing worked so well we have started using it on all new roof tarp jobs.
